A Writer’s Online Tool List That Contains a Little Bit of Everything
Be forewarned: this list is pretty random. But chances are if you take a second to think about the selections, you’ll soon see that each represents a facet of a writer’s life!
StyleWriter

StyleWriter by StyleWriter-USA is a one-stop-shop writing and editing software program for writers of all types. It has a vast database of common (and not so common) “writing faults” as they call them that include but certainly aren’t limited to checking for complex words, typical grammar, jargon, and wordy phrases. What’s great is that it isn’t just for writers or editors, your kids can use it for help with school work and any type of business person will benefit from it when the need for writing arises, just to name a few.
StoryCraftPro

For those fiction writers out there, consider picking up StoryCraftPro software from John Jarvis, inventor of the “The Jarvis Method” of approaching fiction writing. This handy software will help you over common fiction writing hurdles such as writer’s block, the outlining process and character development. This software is good for all fiction writers…from screenplay masters to novelists.
Q10

If you consider yourself to be an “old school” writer and long for the days of the simplicity of a piece of paper and a typewriter, then the free software Q10 may be just what the doctor ordered. What it comes down to is you and your words, which just so happen to be on a screen. No tool bars or other distractions, though there are formatting options for your convenience.
Grooveshark

Is music your muse? Are you yearning to listen to some Steeley Dan but don’t have any in your music collection. Grooveshark to the rescue. Play virtually any song you can think of at any time for free. What’s even better is that if you sign up for an account, you can create playlists to keep for those times when you know what you want, but don’t have time to search for every song one by one.
Business Plan Pro

So maybe you’re thinking about starting a writing business, or you just have and you’re wondering how to make it more “official.” A good place to start is by writing a business plan, which will get all of your hopes, aspirations and your plan of action down in writing. Business Plan Pro from Palo Alto Software will take the guesswork out of something that many new business owners find to be a daunting (and boring!) task.

Great post…I’ll certainly use some of these.
Looking forward to more great stuff!
Thanks, Caleb! We are always adding more great content, so keep coming back! :-)
Decent list. I would add Celtix program. It’s a really amazing piece of software.
Thanks for the suggestion!
