Editing Changes
Some Fuel News

It’s been just over a year since I started my venture with Fuel Your Writing. I began as a regular contributor in August of 2009 and by November, I was Co-Editor. Time definitely does fly because I cannot believe it’s already November 2010 already. There have been a lot of changes in my life the past year, leading to me to make this decision.
As of today, I’m officially stepping down as Co-Editor, leaving the fantastic Christopher Jackson to take the reigns by himself and make Fuel Your Writing even better than we’ve already been able to. The site has grown by leaps and bounds and I’m so proud of it.
Why the Change?
The increasing number of projects in my life has made it, regrettably, impossible to focus on Fuel Your Writing with the attention it deserves. Finishing my first full-length novel, starting my NaNoWriMo book, as well as starting my own website.
I’m Not Really Leaving
I am still staying on as a regular contributor here at Fuel – not a chance I can leave completely! I love it here too much, having been here almost since the site was launched in May 2009.
I was recently offered a position at a publishing house as an acquistions editor and, if I accept a manuscript, I’ll be doing the substantive/content edits, along with copy-editing others’ work when needed. Alongside this I will be writing a monthly column here on Fuel Your Writing covering querying agents, submitting manuscripts, and much more about the publishing industry. These are things that we’ve never really covered here at FYW, so I’m looking forward to writing about them for you.
Future Plans!
One other great thing is I This has been a dream of mine. A huge dream. It’s what I went to college for. To work in publishing, starting at an editor. Fuel got me going, and I thank the Universe, or whatever power gave me the opportunity, for that chance. I’ve learned so much and met so many great people on this journey, nothing can replace it. But it also gave me the experience to get into fiction editing, which I plan to do for quite a while.
The Fuel Your Writing community is brilliant. I love our readers – the loyalty and the great way you share our existence and communicate through comments. This site has grown and the content is what it is because of our amazing writers. But, without readers, we’d have nothing, so I thank you all for the bottom of my heart for tuning in each week and spreading the word. I’ll be proud to stick around and see what else can be done here. I know Chris has some fabulous ideas in mind that will soon be implemented.
So, even though I won’t be editing or working as closely with everything here at Fuel, I have the site to thank for where I am and where I’m going, and I have every intention of paying back that debt. I’ll still be around and I hope to be able to help you all in a different way than I have in the past!
Again, thank you and you’ll be hearing from me soon!
Since winning her first writing competition, Eden Tyler, has only fallen more in love with the written word. She uses her English and Psychology backgrounds to create depth to her stories while contributing to and running websites about writing. This is what fulfills her, along with working as an freelance author as well as an editor at Etopia Press — nothing beats being able to write and edit in order to put food on the table (and that ever-essential roof overhead) for her family.

Congrats, Eden, and thanks!
Thanks, Eric =D
congratulations on getting the editing job, I wish you nothing but the best.
Thanks, Seth! I appreciate it :))
We will miss working with you as an Editor Eden, but are glad to have you continue on with your column. Sincerely, all the best with the exciting things happening in your life.
I’ll miss being Editor, too, but I’m happy I’m staying on. Thanks so much for everything!!
