What’s YOUR Writing Space?
Right, it’s over to you!

Over the past few months, Fuel Your Writing has been sharing with you some of the weird and wonderful (and sometimes very ordinary) writing spaces of a few famous authors. We still have some more to show you, but now we would like to open the floor up to you.
What does your Writing Space look like?
We’d like all you lovely readers of the Fuel Your Writing community to share where you spend your time writing. We’ve seen how different they can be, and we’re looking for literally anything. Do you write on a small, simple desk… or do you have a beautiful oak one with draws full of previous work? Do you have somewhere you can call your own, or are you forced to write where there are lots of people and distractions about? Do you *prefer* to write in public? If so, where’s your public space?
If you can, we would love you to write us some short posts, complete with a picture or two, about where you work, and why you work there. If you can’t, or wouldn’t like, to write about it – you can still send your pictures! We’re very excited to see where you all write your brilliant stories and expert copy!
If you would like to get involved, please contact us or send your photos here.
We’re really looking forward to seeing all your Writing Spaces!

Excellent topic! I can’t wait to see where WE write!
Personally, I don’t really have a writing space. My writing space is my laptop and wherever it may be. Unfortunately it’s also my work computer, so often writing takes a back seat to doing work (video editing). I’ve become quite acustomed to writing, and working, wherever I may be: Starbucks, outside, my living room, in bed, waiting for an appointment, etc.
In those rare moments when I do get to curl up and focus on my writing (and oh, how rare they are!) I prefer to sit outside or near a window where I can be inspired by the beauty of nature. Much of my inspired writing, oddly enough, has come from the dark confines of my bedroom, inspired by art and movie posters.
My favorite writing space is someplace I can be inspired. Fortunately I seem to be able to find a random source of inspiration wherever I may be… the only downside is that it’s hard to stay on topic with so many random sources of inspiration.
Thanks for commenting Eric! I”m glad to hear you’re as excited as we at Fuel Your Writing are to hear about where you all write!
What you have to say about finding your own space wherever you can is very interesting. In today’s mobile lifestyle, where a lot of us have laptops and smartphones allowing us to work from pretty much anywhere, perhaps the idea of a dedicated Writing Space like we have featured is changing. Perhaps you could write us an article on the Anywhere Writing Space – that would be fantastic!
I would be happy to try. Feel free to email me and we can talk about it. Thanks!
Not sure of your email address Eric, but please feel free to get in touch with us here!
You should have an email. I look forward to hearing from you!
Excellent Topic. Would love to see the various places people use as writing nests. Emailed you Chris, with my reply and picture :)
Thank you for your comments and your email Neha. Looking forward to featuring your space!
Christopher, I love the idea of readers doing a post about their writing spaces, maybe you’d even consider doing a blog tour? I’d be honored to participate if you decide to host.
My writing space is pretty much “wherever I am when an idea comes along”, (I have been known to hyperventilate when finding myself without pen and paper). However, I do have an office, partially for the day job and partially for writing. But I find that I write better when I’m outside, so I more often than not am on the porch, either with notebook and pen or my laptop.
Indeed this is something I could go on and on about, (which, yes, I know, I’m known for doing here), :) so I’ll just move on to a Word doc and work on that post….
Thanks for a fun subject Christopher, and thanks too for all the writing spaces posts you all have done these past few months, I have enjoyed them very much!
The inspiration of the outdoors is something I think a lot of people feel, and we can increasingly take advantage of it. Thanks for your comments! I’m very glad to hear you have been enjoying the Writing Spaces, we’ve certainly enjoyed featuring them.
Also, the blog tour idea sounds very interesting! I’ll look into it, and you’re definitely welcome to be on it if we go ahead.
Cool topic. Hope I’m not too late!
You’re certainly not! Please send us a picture, or maybe even an article, about your writing space!
